Our Team
Todd Cristall, President
Todd first discovered wine on a trip to France while in high school and started selling it in 1982 in Edmonton. Since those early days he has worked in most facets of the wine trade, written professionally on the subject and has imported wine from nearly every corner of the planet. Favourite wine - '71 Bouchard Pere et Fils Morey Saint Denis "Clos Sorbe" given to me by my father was the first truly great wine I ever had. It was ethereal. Ultimate food & wine combo - Mature Bordeaux and roast lamb. A combination without peers.
Karl Warme, Store Manager
Karl’s interest in wine blossomed while living in California, minutes from great wineries. His palate broadened further while working in fine dining in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Toronto. He finally landed in the Maritimes in 2004. Favourite wine - 1988 Foxen Pinot Noir enjoyed at the source on Super Bowl Sunday ’92 while the rest of the country watched football.Ultimate food & wine combo - Braised lamb shank with a hearty Ribera Del Duero.
Jason MacPhee, Assistant Buyer
Jason gravitated towards wine while in university and has worked in the retail wine trade for seven years having joined us three years ago. When not drinking wine he can often be found at the local bowling lanes. He often combines his two passions with varied results.
Favourite wine - 2000 Domaine de Cristia Chateauneuf-du-Pape on New Year's eve 2008.
Ultimate food and wine combo - Well made Cabernet Franc (we stock a couple) with asparagus and goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto.
Roger MacKinnon, Retail Sales
Roger has been in the liqu
or industry as long as anyone can remember. Legendary barman at Nova Scotia's top watering holes, over the years he has travelled extensively. Although he has attempted to retire more than once he continues the tradition of dispensing sage advice to our customers. Roger enjoys travel, is a voracious reader and in the winter months is a well known figure around hockey rinks in the Valley.
Favourite wine - Any great Barolo (with a top Australian Shiraz on deck).
Ultimate food and wine combo - Barolo with porcini mushrooms.
Drew Dunphy, Retail Sales
Drew has been working in the wine trade for nearly six years. He cut his teeth on red wines but in recent months has been wooed by the white side. He seldom stays still and in his spare time can be found playing or teaching tennis, working out or running.
Favourite wine - 2008 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. One of the best you'll find. Made the "Top 100" in the Wine Spectator last year.
Ultimate food and wine combo - A flavourful Sauvignon Blanc with grilled salmon.
Joe MacNeil, Retail Sales

Joe discovered wine and a few other things on a trip to Montreal rotating atop restaurant Le Tour Deville with its spectacular view of the city. When not golfing or on the tennis court Joe can be found watching hockey with a glass of red wine not far away.
Favourite wine - Champagne Ellner. It doesn't get any better than that.
Ultimate food and wine combo - A full bodied Italian red with applewood cheese and a baguette from Pete's.
Alicea Colwell, Retail Sales
The youngest member of our team, it wasn't that long ago that Alicea graduated from grape juice to wine. While recently travelling overseas she quenched her thirst with a variety of wines. Since joining Cristall & Luckett her palate has broadened much further and she hopes to return to Europe soon to continue her education.
